Matthew 25:31-26:16 | Kingdom Now: The Heart Always Leaves Evidence

Download MP3
Pastor Karl wraps up Matthew 25 and opens Matthew 26 with one big idea: devotion to Jesus begins in the heart, but it never stays hidden there, because the heart always leaves evidence.
In the sheep and goats passage, Jesus isn't announcing how anyone earns salvation. He's revealing hearts that already exist, since a closed heart makes a closed hand and an open heart makes an open hand. From there, Pastor Karl draws the line between iniquity, the crookedness inside, and transgression, the outward action it produces. He then traces both in Matthew 26 through the religious leaders, Judas, and Mary, whose extravagant devotion in pouring out her costly perfume flowed from a heart Christ had made new. The message calls listeners to repent not just of behavior but of the iniquity underneath, and to receive the new heart only Jesus can give.
